So far, RPP has distributed 30,376 improved cook stoves in all fifteen sectors of Bugesera district, 12,020 stoves in the sectors around volcanoes national park and 70,000 stoves are being distributed in 12 sectors of Kayonza district. Our stoves are produced by a local factory in the Western Province of Rwanda and are distributed unto cells level by delivering them to the cells office. From cells, they are distributed by the CPOs (Community Project Officers, an employee of RPP who lives in the project area) unto households’level. Performing short introductional lessons, we educate the people how to use their stove properly before they receive it. Every stove carries a number which helps us to identify the households during the households’visits and monitoring surveys.
